While living in Sechelt, I could pretty much name where I would be each morning; Monday, Wednesday & Friday were big walking/hiking mornings. Thursday morning was yoga, Saturday and/or Sundays would be another big walk with a friend.
Each of those morning commitments helped to bracket the days and provide some sort of orienting structure which I find necessary when I’m the master of each day’s destiny.
But here in the city, I’ve been scattered about, back and forth to the Sunshine Coast, schlepping things to and fro, and quite literally, trying to find my feet.
But this morning, just as I was writing that I felt like I’d, “…finally figured out the rhythm to living here and that since it’s the 23rd, it’s still technically the New Year…” Kevin looked up from his capuccino and said, “Gung Hay Fat Choy!”
HA! It’s only the New Year now. Turns out I’m right on track for 2012 or Year of the Dragon.
There is nothing I like better than an excuse to start again. Even though I realize that, every day is the first day of the rest of my life. It somehow seems more possible when it’s official like this.
I went for a walk on the seawall this morning, bought some bok choy and chinese noodles and am prepared to begin my life starting today.
Imagine the possibilities that await in a year named after a dragon…
